Wilma Floyd's Obituary
Wilma Floyd, born on April 18, 1935, in Oxford, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on March 25, 2024, in Newark. She was the beloved daughter of the late Susan Evans and Purdy Chandler. Wilma is preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Floyd and Audrey McAdams, and her late husband, John Floyd, as well as her sisters and brothers.
In her earlier years, Wilma worked diligently as a housekeeper at the Hall of Records in Newark, New Jersey, demonstrating her strong work ethic and commitment to providing for her family. She was a dedicated member of Joy Cometh in the Morning in Newark, New Jersey, where she found solace and community.
Wilma leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories to be forever held by her grandchild, Tqisha Floyd-Welch, and her great-grandchildren, Tariq Benthall-Durant, Terrell Benthall-Durant, Titiyana Benthall-Durant, Alkirah Artis, Derrick Artis, Joyaisha Artis, Lakeiste Welch Additionally, she is survived by her great-great-grandchildren, My'ayla Scott-Durant, Messiah Durant, Sha'Asia Welch, and Quayoin Perry, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
