Milsainte Pierre's Obituary
Milsainte Vil-Pierre, warmly known as Millie, was born a fraternal twin on August 9, 1947 in Ganthier, Haiti. At a very young age she was forced to make the sacrifice of working with her mother in order for her siblings to attend school. Due to those circumstances, she made sure that we all had a great education. She raised us to be independent and resilient. Married at the age of 16 she became the First Lady of her town. Later she migrated to the US in the mid 60s and broke the mold with her determination and bravery. Millie was truly the definition of a hustler; working in factories for 35 years then obtaining a nursing certification to working as a nurse assistant in her later years.
In addition, she enjoyed scavenging marketplaces for jewelry and goods as she was a well known entrepreneur that sold to the community .
She helped her siblings and family migrate to the United States and plant strong roots.
Ever the gracious and generous host, Millie’s door and kitchen was always open. You could never leave her house without a plate, a bag and a stern word of advice.
Though she birthed seven, as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she also was a healer to many. Millie’s enthusiastic care for community ensured you never left as a stranger. She instilled that same quality in all of us.
Milsainte Vil-Pierre departed this world on January 13, 2026 at 78 years old, ending a life well lived. Her spirit will be cherished and live on through her loved ones.
