Lester Holliday was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Monroe Williams and Lillian Holliday on December 8, 1953. Lester aka was Duke and Dukie. His name was Duke. Lester spent a small amount of time little in Philadelphia. Lester came to Newark, New Jersey as a young child. Lester spent most in New Jersey until his adult life.
Lester relocated to New York City in his adult life. He worked at America Works of NY, Inc.,as a Maintenance Worker until his retirement. Lester loved his job because he would hardly take time off. Lester considered his co-workers his extended family. Lester will also tell his clients don't give up in life.
Lester sensed that he as a calling as Maintenance Worker. Lester worked with passion and enjoying going to work every day and will go beyond his duties. Lester co-workers loved him and he loved them.
Lester attended school in Newark, New Jersey.

Lester will take yearly vacation to visit his sister Patricia Durham in Charlotte North Carolina, during the Thanksgiving holidays. Lester and Patricia would have long conversation reminisce about the good old times on the porch and laughing into the midnight. It was never a dull moment while Lester was in North Carolina.
Lester enjoyed listening to music and watching television. Lester loved making friends and family laugh. Lester enjoyed riding his bike and going to concerts. Lester enjoyed a good soul food meal.
Lester was a very good dresser. Lester always looked good and smell good before he hit the before he left his apartment.
Lester attended Good Neighbor Baptist Church located in Newark, New Jersey
Lester accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior before departed this world.
His parents, Lillian Holliday and Monroe Williams, predeceased Lester. He leaves to cherish his two brothers, John Troy Richardson, Charles Arnold Holliday (Diane Holliday), three sisters, Patricia Durham, Shelia Holliday, and Elder, Constance Lewis. His late son, Sharif Alston, Ockmon Alston and Byson Alston and a host of family , relatives and many dear friends.
