Lamont Mason's Obituary
LAMONT MASON was born on August 20, 1968 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Leroy and the late Lillie Mae Mason.
He was educated in the Newark Public School System.
Lamont was affectionately known to family members and friends as "Sadat". He was an awesome person, who was fun to be around. He was self-confident, always trustworthy and a devoted family member and friend. He was extremely kind-hearted and generous. Sadat loved working, dancing, cooking, having fun and eating amongst other things. He was loved a great deal by everyone who he met.
In 1984 Sadat met Judy Lashonne Sewell, who gifted im with his prize possession, his oldest son, Lamont Jaquan Mason.
In 2004 he met Eblyn Marina Mosquera, they married on April 20, 2005 and from that union came his two additional blessings, who he loved dearly, Jason and Jasmine Mason.
Sadat was skilled in many areas and he loved working, he was rarely without employment. If one door closed, he immediately sought employment elsewhere.
He departed this life on June 2, 2020.
Sadat was predeceased by his parents Leroy and Lillie Mae Mason.
Sadat's life and memory are cherished by his wife: Eblyn Marina Mason of Elizabeth, New Jersey his beloved sons: Lamont Jaquan Mason
of Kinsey, Alabama and Jason Mason of Elizabeth, New Jersey, his daughter: Jasmine Mason of Elizabeth, New Jersey; his brother: James Mason (Latanya) of Syracuse, New York, one grandson; Royal Mason; one niece; Shanaya Arrington of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; George Ford of Baltimore, Maryland and Mark (Omar) Shumante of Greenville, South Carolina; two great-aunts: Mattie Moore of Seaboard, North Carolina and Linda Johnson-Marsh of Raleigh, North Carolina; two special cousins; Emanuel (Majid) Edwards and Lanette (Fee) Mason, a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Sadat was a like no other, never to be replaced in our hearts. He will truly be missed by each of us.
