Evelyn Queen Jones' Obituary
Evelyn Queen Jones, lovingly known as Queen, was born on December 9, 1947, to Willie and Hattie
Jones in Wilson, NC. As the fourth of nine siblings, she brought joy and warmth to her family from an
early age. Throughout her life she led a life of service as a teacher, devoted aunt that raised multiple nieces and nephews, confidant, and friend.
On August 31, 2024, she peacefully took her last breath, joining the Lord she so faithfully trusted.
While we feel a profound sadness at her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is now in a
place of eternal peace, far beyond anything earthly.
Queen is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Willie and Hattie Jones, and siblings Vivian,
Willie Jr., Yvonne, Stanley, and Doris. She leaves behind her cherished siblings, Odell McNair (Lois)
, Inez Jones, and Linda Jones-Stewart (Rodney), along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and
her goddaughter, Shauna Fulton, all of whom will deeply miss her encouragement, love, laughter,
and warmth.
