Obituary Edward Leroy Edgar Jr. , a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at the age of 82 in Livingston, NJ, surrounded by his loving family. Edward Leroy Edgar Jr (Eddie) was born in Orange NJ on May 20, 1942 to Bessie and Edward Leroy Edgar Sr. (Both Deceased). He was the brother of Hope Webster (deceased), Frank (Barbara) Edgar, Kim (Joann) Edgar, Faith Edgar Sr., and Mark Edgar. Eddie was the Uncle of Faith Edgar Jr, and Tommy Edgar (deceased). He was a proud resident of Orange NJ for many years, and Graduated from Orange High School in 1960. He was a member of a group of the first African American Firemen in Orange. He also worked for AT&T in the area of information technology, and he also worked with the United Way for a number of years. He was the former husband of Anne P. Edgar (deceased) and to this union four lovely daughters were born, Yvonne (Lawrence) Williams Conway, SC, Yvette L. Edgar (deceased), Marci McCray of Conway, SC, and Shawn (Claude Sr.) Craig of West Orange NJ. He was also the loving father of a blended family, Ms. Yvette McDonald, Debbie Macdonald, Dana Meixner, Tonya Jenkins (deceased), Ricardo Elie, Vanessa McDonald, and Edward (Allison) Edgar III. He was also a cherished grandfather to Michael Edward Cook, Stephanie Ilunga, Stephen Edward Williams, Marcus Long, Dennis McCray Jr., Elijah McCray, Claud Craig Jr., Naiya Craig, Gracie Edgar, Edward Leroy Edgar IV, and Charleigh Edgar, and a host of blended grandchildren, along with numerous great grandchildren. Edward L. Edgar Jr. will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, dedication to family, and words of wisdom. In his latter years he was known for being an easy going, chilled kind of person, thus the name “Easy Ed.” He was also known by the name, “Papa Eddie” by his caregivers. Edward Leroy Edgar Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, kindness, and strength.
