Blanche Davis' Obituary
Blanche Marie Davis, affectionately known as "Bunny," Born and
raised in Newark New Jersey transitioned peacefully on February 12,
2025,at the age of 69. She was born on December 22, 1956, to the
Late Sarah and Roosevelt Davis and was one of nine siblings.
Bunny was a proud graduate of Southside High School, now known
as Shabazz High School. She went on to co-own Bunny’s
Luncheonette on Springfield Avenue in Newark, New Jersey, where
she shared her love for cooking with the community. In addition to
running a beloved local eatery, she also dedicated many years of
service working for the City of Newark.
Bunny’s greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her
three loving children: Donna Sharie Davis, Charles Clifton Davis,
and Melody Taricee Daniels. Her two sisters Sarah Millerand Lillian
Carlton and two brothers Robert Davis and Ronald Davis. She was
the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandson,
who affectionately called her "Big Bunny." She was more than just a
mother and grandmother—she was a guiding light, an all-around
neighborhood mom and grandma to many.
Bunny had a heart full of love and a spirit that shined through her
passions. She found joy in cooking, caring for her family and others,
dancing, and singing. Her presence was a source of warmth,
laughter ,and wisdom.
She now joins her beloved siblings Johnny Davis, Gregory Davis,
Maybelle "Cookie" Davis and Desiree Davis, as well as her cherished
grandson and Granddaughter, Olajuwan Terhune Hasbin and India
Davis, in eternal peace.
Bunny leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family members,
friends, and loved ones who will carry on her legacy of love,
kindness, and unwavering strength.
Bunny’s love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who were
blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
