Al-Tariq Demetrius Jenkins was born in Newark, New Jersey on August 23, 1972 to Patti Hackett-Eason and Willie Jenkins.
Al-Tariq , also known as “Man-Man” or Riq grew up in The City Of Newark, N.J. Graduated from Malcom X. Shabazz High School Al-Tariq departed on May 23rd, 2021 after a fierce battle with cancer. He was a Momma’s boy who loved his Mom. He loved his children & grandchildren dearly, He loved Kids in fact was a big kid himself at heart. He will truly be missed by his Family, Friends & Coworkers. He loved to eat. & loved to attend cookouts and family functions. He enjoyed watching Horror, Comedy Flicks. Corey Holcomb was one of his favorite comedians and he could quote the Friday Movie Sequels line for line. He enjoyed watching the NFL the 49er’s was his favorite team. He was a warehouse worker for over 25 years. No one who met him forgot his infectious laugh. If you ever spent any time with him you would see him creating “artwork” with tissue. He enjoyed walking and if you were with in distance, he was there.
He leaves behind his four children to mourn , Satira A. Jenkins , Elijah A. Zackery-Jenkins , Jewels T. Zackery-Jenkins & Hazirah L. Bates.
He leaves one sibling his to mourn Yvonne C. Eason of Newark, New Jersey.
Three grandchildren Alai’ ja , Major Gilmer & Heaven Zackery-Jenkins
He leaves two Aunts, Doris Holman of Orange, New Jersey and Ann Hackett of East Orange, New Jersey.
He leaves his Nieces and Nephews Teresa, Ameer, LaKeesha (deceased), LaTisha, Jamal, Donna, Nadir, Ameenah, George (deceased), Hadji, Ray-Quell, and Keiyaniah. Thirty-Nine Great nieces and Great nephews, 5 Great-great nephews & 4 great-great niece. Two Godchildren Deaiesha Jones and Takiyah Wilson.

His Parents Patti Hackett- Eason , Willie Jenkins. His siblings Patricia (Bellinger) William, Linda & Cynthia (Eason), Brenda (Thompson), “The Twins” Sonya and Tonya (Jenkins) all which preceded him in death.
